KERSHAW PROJECTS
Kershaw 2415
A friend gave me the Kershaw 2415 (above) in the summer 01 and I carried it with me every day for 11 years. I thought I lost it when helping my brother at a junk yard but in actuality let it fall under the car seat in a snug nook. In the fallowing months of heartbreak and disappointment I DID clean and vacuum the car but failed to find it. I decided I needed a new one and started the search. I quickly found that the 2400 series was discontinued. I started watching Ebay and after a few bids I had my Kershaw! Not 2 days later I decided to let someone else wash and vacuum the Impala. So I am Driving home and Lindsey says what's this? She takes Kershaw out of the cubby under the radio. It's my original one! They must have found it under the seat. So now I have a few of them and I decided to make some changes to some of them.
I replaced the worn out rubber inserts with African mahogany
One of the Kershaws I Bought didn't come with the clip. So I made one.
My father-in-law gave me a Kershaw 1930ST and I don't remember how the Idea came to me but as always I can't get the idea out of my head until I do it. ABC Always Be Creating. I guess I was thinking of different shaped knife clips and BOOM! A bottle opener clip.
As always a fun project and looking
back I have some things I will change on the next one. I cut out the
opener opening with a dremel and it's sloppy. The next one I will use
drill bits for uniform corners and I assume a more simple cut out. I
also need practice with the gun blue to get an smooth dark finish.
