The truck is the big project. Dad and I have worked on it on and off over the years and I am ready to get this thing rolling. We have been tackling it on Sundays for a couple hours when we can. The posts on this project will be more photos than story since I am snapping pics every 5 seconds with the Iphone. Hopefully if we ever finish this thin we can look back at all the pictures and feel like we accomplishment something or just wounder what we were thinking.
We removed the rear-end that we were going to use and in an effort to go back as original as possible decided to clean up our original rear-end. After further investigation we found it was not salvageable. The rust had taken over.
This is the old one we planed on cleaning up. It was just to far gone.
Luckily we found 1 in great condition on Craig's list for $100. The spring were still attached to it so it was as simple as rolling it in to place and bolting it on.
The guy who sold us the rear-end told me the breaks were in good working order but since everything is apart and easy to get to we cleaned up the breaks and replaced the cylinder.
<----- DIRTY
<-----CLEAN
Dad picked up new break shews and while I was getting it all back together Dad finished running the break-lines.
The last thing to get up to date with this project is the generator.
Just a quick cleaning and replace brushes.
